The Good, Bad, and Ugly Egos of the week

The Good: Amed Rosario, SS, Las Vegas 51s, MLB #3 Overall Prospect. Amed Rosario is on the good list this week. He made this list because of how he interacts with the fans, the media, and his impending call up to the New York Mets. Rosario keeps himself in a good position by not acting too cocky, because of his high status in the MLB pipeline. Rosario is playfully with fans on Twitter, and is known for his catchphrase, “Don’t be surprised, be ready”. This catchphrase shows us that he still sees himself as a baseball player, but that you shouldn’t be surprised to see him do amazing things, and be ready for them. He has the perfect mix of confidence and swagger.

The Bad: Odell Beckham Jr, All-Pro WR, New York Giants. Odell Beckham Jr is one of the best Wide Receiver in football. The reason he is on the bad list is that he failed to show up to OTAs these past two weeks, leading to speculation about him being unhappy about his contract status with the Giants. It is understandable as to why he is unhappy, seeing that his shoe deal with Nike is paying him more than three times his salary with the Giants, but he still needs to remember that he plays on a team, and show that he has matured since last season. If he realizes that the team is bigger than he is, he will no longer be on this list.

The Ugly: Mr. Met, Mascot, New York Mets. Some of you may be thinking, “Why is Mr. Met on this list”? The reason is that he was caught on video last week flipping off a group of young fans. You may argue if he truly deserves to be on this list, seeing as the person in the mascot costume really did the action, but he does, in my opinion. As a Mets fan, this was hard for me to decide, because I love Mr. Met, despite the rude thing he did. Children come to ball games hoping to take a photo with the mascot, but what happened can ruin a mascot’s image. Mr. Met normally would not be on this list, but for the sake of the children who he could have offended, this is his punishment.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to comment and debate who you think deserves to be on next week’s list.

  1. Mr. Met only has 4 fingers so he can’t really give someone the middle finger – he doesn’t have one!
