76ers Stay Undefeated in Win over Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks trailed 103-101 when Trae Young was on the free throw line. Young missed the free throw and John Collins put the shot back in and it tied the game at 103 with 7.4 seconds remaining.

Joel Embiid was fouled on the next possession for the Philadelphia 76ers. He made two free throws with 5.3 seconds remaining in regulation.

Atlanta had no more timeouts. Philadelphia did a tremendous job of denying Trae Young the ball and Vince Carter attempt a three-point shot as time expired and he missed. The 76ers were able to hang on against the Hawks by a score of 105-103.

Embiid finished with 36 points on 63.2 percent shooting from the field. He also grabbed 13 rebounds, recorded five assists, blocked one shot, and recorded three steals.

Josh Richardson scored 14 points. He shot 42.9 percent shooting from the field. Richardson also grabbed five rebounds, recorded three assists, and blocked three shots.

Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons each scored 13 points. Harris shot 31.2 percent from the field. He also grabbed five rebounds, recorded five assists, and recorded one steal.

Simmons shot 54.5 percent from the field. He also grabbed six rebounds, recorded six assists, blocked one shot, and recorded one steal.

Philadelphia’s benched scored 24 points. Shake Milton scored nine points and Matisse Thybulle scored eight points.

Trae Young led the way once again for the Hawks with 25 points. He shot 35 percent from the field. Young also grabbed four rebounds and recorded nine assists.

John Collins scored 16 points. He shot 60 percent from the field. Collins also grabbed eight rebounds, recorded one assist, blocked one shot, and recorded one steal.

De’Andre Hunter scored 14 points. He shot 50 percent from the field. Hunter also grabbed nine rebounds, recorded one assist, and recorded one steal.

Atlanta’s bench scored 39 points. Bruno Fernando scored 11 points on 71.4 percent shooting from the field. He also grabbed four rebounds, recorded two assists, and blocked two shots.

Jabari Parker and Kevin Huerter each scored six points off the bench.

The Philadelphia 76ers biggest lead was four points and the Atlanta Hawks biggest lead was 13 points.

These two teams will play each other two more times this season.

Philadelphia’s next game will be at home on Wednesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Atlanta’s next game will be on the road on Tuesday night against the Miami Heat.
