Andrei Vasilevskiy Stands Tall in Lightning’s Game 4 Win against Devils

After a tough Game 3 loss against the New Jersey Devils, Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy shut the door for most of the night with 27 saves, and it lifted the Lightning to a Game 4, 3-1 win against the Devils. Tampa Bay leads this series 3-1.

Kyle Palmieri scored a 5-on-3 power-play goal in the first-period for New Jersey. J.T. Miller scored a goal later in the first for Tampa Bay. The Lightning originally scored a goal later in the period, but New Jersey challenged the play for offsides and they won the challenge. It didn’t affect Tampa Bay because Nikita Kucherov scored later in the period.

Kucherov scored an empty-net goal with 1:08 remaining in regulation. One of the main stories of the game was how great Tampa Bay’s and New Jersey’s penalty kill’s were and how horrendous both power plays were.

The Lightning were 0-for-5 on the power play and the Devils were 1-for-6 on the power play. Cory Schneider made 34 saves for the Devils. Game 5 will be on Saturday Afternoon in Tampa Bay and the Lightning will look to advance to the second round.
