Blue Jackets Avoid Lightning Storm in Game 1

The Tampa Bay Lightning completely dominated the regular season against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tampa Bay dominated the first-period in Game 1 and had a 3-0 lead at one point. However, the Blue Jackets clawed back into the game and Seth Jones scored the game-winning power-play goal with 5:55 remaining in regulation and it lifted them to a 4-3 win in Game 1.

Alex Killorn scored a short-handed goal for the Lightning 4:12 into the game. Anthony Cirelli scored for Tampa Bay with 8:59 remaining in the first. Yanni Gourde scored a goal with 2:10 remaining in the period.

Nick Foligno scored for Columbus 9:15 into the second-period. David Savard scored 7:56 into the third-period. Josh Anderson scored a short-handed goal to tie the game at three with 8:06 remaining in regulation.

Sergei Bobrovsky finished with 26 saves for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Andrei Vasilevskiy finished with 22 saves for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Game 2 will be on Friday night in Tampa Bay at Amile Arena and Columbus will look to go up 2-0, while Tampa Bay will look to even the series at one game a piece.
