Blues Dominate and Shutout Sharks

The St. Louis Blues found a way to even the series against the San Jose Sharks in Game 4 at home and on Sunday afternoon in San Jose, St. Louis dominated them from start to finish in a 5-0 win. The Blues now lead this series 3-2 and the Sharks are now on the brink of elimination for the second time this postseason.

Oskar Sundqvist scored 5:50 into the game for St. Louis.

St. Louis scored two goals in the second-period by Jaden Schwartz (3:05 into the period) and Vladimir Tarasenko on a penalty shot (6:53 into the second-period).

Jaden Schwartz scored two more goals in the third-period. One of them was on the power-play 2:19 in and the other was with 3:58 remaining in regulation.

The San Jose Sharks had such a difficult time staying out of the penalty box.

The St. Louis Blues had eight power plays in the game, but they only converted on one of them. The only positive coming out of the game for San Jose is that they played well on the penalty kill.

The Sharks also lost Joe Pavelski, Erik Karlsson, Timo Meier, and Joonas Donskoi because of injuries. There statuses for Game 6 is unknown at this time.

Martin Jones finished the game with 35 saves for San Jose, but there was some speculation as to whether or not Aaron Dell would replace him at some point during the game.

Jordan Binnington finished the game with 26 saves for St. Louis and it was his first playoff shutout in his NHL career.

Game 6 will be on Tuesday night in St. Louis. The Blues will look to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1970. The Sharks will look to force a Game 7 for the second time this postseason.
