Oh thank you NFL Gods! I needed something to write about and something to write about you provided. The Patriots have traded Brandin Cooks to the Rams for the 23rd overall pick and a sixth rounder. The Rams now have a number one weapon to give Jared Goff and this greatly improves the offense. If the Rams weren’t already, this move makes them the best team in football.
The move has ramifications for the rest of the leauge to though. One it makes an Odell trade in general unlikely, unless the Giants are bsing the entire leauge and will deal the star wide out for less than two first overall picks, which they might be. Either way it seems unlikely the Rams make any more moves this offseason unless they can stack second and third rounders together to make a move.
So what about Gronk? The general feeling out of New England has been unrest. I think this move sends a message, no matter who you are you are tradable. I would not be shocked if the Patriots moved Gronk this offseason still.
Whats next for the Patriots? Wait until the Draft day, they have 2 firsts and 2 seconds that’s some ammo to move up to the mid round. With a run on Quarterbacks early in this draft I would not be shocked if the Patriots moved there picks and Gronk to move into the top ten or top 15 (if they just traded picks) to try to get one of these defensive studs that Belichick loves. Either way the Patriots are not done making moves. This isn’t a rebuild it’s a reload and triple down on Tom Brady, New Englands at the table and they’ve got all the kings in the king (Tom Brady), they’re going all in.
