Cavaliers Take Down Short-Handed Lakers

The Cleveland Cavaliers had lost 12 straight games heading into Sunday night’s match up against a banged up Los Angeles Lakers team on the road. Cleveland took down Los Angeles 101-95. With the Lakers losing again without Lebron James, they drop to 23-21 and Los Angeles is now tied for 8th in the west with the Utah Jazz.

This is Cleveland’s ninth win of the season. Cedi Osman led the Cavaliers in scoring with 20 points. He also grabbed eight rebounds, recorded one assist, and recorded two steals. Rodney Hood scored 18 points, grabbed three rebounds, recorded three assists, and had one steal.

Collin Sexton and Alec Burks each scored 17 points for the Cavaliers. Burks grabbed 13 rebounds. Sexton grabbed three rebounds and recorded three assists. Tristan Thompson recorded a double-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and two blocks. The Cleveland Cavaliers only scored 14 bench points and Jordan Clarkson scored nine of them.

Kyle Kuzma led the Los Angeles Lakers in scoring with 29 points. He also grabbed nine rebounds and recorded four assists. Brandon Ingram scored 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and recorded two assists. Lonzo Ball flirted with a triple-double with 13 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.

Los Angeles scored 20 bench points and Michael Beasley scored eight of them. The Lakers biggest lead was only two points. The Cavaliers biggest lead was 15 points.

The Los Angeles Lakers miss the presence of Lebron James and Rajon Rondo. James could return from his groin injury on the road on Thursday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Cleveland Cavaliers next game will be on the road Wednesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Los Angeles Lakers next game will be at home on Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls.
