Charlie Coyle Traded to the Boston Bruins

Centerman Charlie Coyle has been traded to the Boston Bruins from the Minnesota Wild for Ryan Donato and a fifth-round pick. Coyle is 26 years old and he will have one more year remaining on his contract after this season.

Charlie Coyle will most likely be placed on the third line. It will provide more depth for this hockey team. He has scored 10 goals and recorded 18 assists, in 60 games so far this season. His plus/minus is 1.

Boston is one of the best teams in the NHL. They currently sit in second place in the Atlantic Division with a 35-17-8 record with 78 points.

The Boston Bruins have not won the Stanley Cup since 2011.

Centerman/winger Ryan Donato is only 22 years old and he has a lot of potential. In 34 games this season with Boston, he has scored six goals and recorded three assists. His plus/minus is -11. Donato was a second-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.

The fact that the Boston Bruins only had to give up a fifth-round pick and Ryan Donato for Charlie Coyle was a definitely a win for Boston.

This trade was much better than the trade they made back in the summer of 2013 when they traded away Tyler Seguin, who was 21 years old at the time to the Dallas Stars.

This could be the beginning of the fire sale for the Minnesota Wild however.
