Clippers Take Down Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks had a huge game at home at Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. Dallas wanted to prove they belong on the same court as them and Los Angeles wanted to prove to them that they were not at the same level yet.

Paul George dropped 17 of his 26 points in the first-quarter and it led the Clippers to a commanding 114-99 win on the road against the Mavericks.

George shot 38.1 percent from the field. He also grabbed four rebounds, recorded two assists, and recorded six steals.

Los Angeles’s defense made it rough all game long for Dallas. It got them frustrated because the Dallas Mavericks were scoring a bunch of points during their five-game winning streak.

The Los Angeles Clippers defense made Dallas’s star Luka Doncic have an off night. He scored 22 points. Doncic shot 28.6 percent from the field. He also made 14-of-16 free throws. Luka Doncic also grabbed eight rebounds, recorded six assists, and recorded three steals.

Kawhi Leonard led Los Angeles with 28 points. He shot 52.4 percent from the field. Leonard grabbed eight rebounds, recorded four assists, and one steal.

Ivica Zubac scored 11 points for the Clippers. He shot 57.1 percent from the field. Zubac also grabbed seven rebounds.

Their bench scored 44 points. Lou Williams scored 21 points. He shot 50 percent from the field. Williams also grabbed six rebounds and recorded six assists.

Montrezl Harrell scored 12 points off the bench. He also grabbed seven rebounds, recorded one assist, and one steal.

Dallas had issues getting scoring from their supporting cast in this game.

Kristaps Porzingis scored 15 points. He shot 30.8 percent from the field. Porzingis grabbed 10 rebounds, recorded one assist, blocked one shot, and recorded two steals.

Dwight Powell scored 10 points. He shot 80 percent from the field. Powell also grabbed three rebounds, recorded one assist, and recorded three steals.

Their bench scored 37 points, but it felt like the bench didn’t really do much throughout the game.

Seth Curry scored 13 points. He shot 62.5 percent from the field. Curry also grabbed two rebounds.

J.J. Barea scored 12 points. He shot 45.5 percent from the field. Barea also grabbed two rebounds, recorded one assist, and recorded one steal.

At the moment, the Los Angeles Clippers are currently in the third spot in the Western Conference. They have won six consecutive games. Los Angeles is 13-5 so far this season.

The Dallas Mavericks are currently in the fourth spot in the Western Conference. They have the same record as the Houston Rockets at 11-6.
