Clippers Trounce Warriors

This would be the first time that Kawhi Leonard would face the Golden State Warriors as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers.

The last time Leonard played them was in Game 6 of the NBA Finals at Oracle Arena as a member of the Toronto Raptors and winning their first championship in franchise history.

This would be the first regular season at Chase Arena and Leonard scored 21 points on 52.9 percent shooting, along with five rebounds and nine assists, in a 141-122 win for Los Angeles over Golden State.

Patrick Patterson scored 20 points on 53.8 percent shooting. He also grabbed three rebounds and recorded one assist.

Ivica Zubac scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He shot 80 percent from the field. Zubac also recorded one assist and blocked two shots.

Landry Shamet scored 11 points. He shot 80 percent from the field. Shamet also recorded three assists and blocked one shot.

The Los Angeles Clippers bench was strong once again as they scored 68 points as a unit. Montrezl Harrell scored 18 points. He shot 88.9 percent from the field. Harrell grabbed six rebounds and recorded three assists.

Lou Williams scored 22 points. He shot 45.5 percent from the field. Williams also grabbed three rebounds, recorded eight assists, and recorded one steal.

Maurice Harkless scored 10 points. He shot 71.4 percent from the field. Harkless also grabbed two rebounds, recorded three assists, blocked one shot, and recorded one steal.

This team jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first-quarter before Golden State scored their first basket of the game.

Los Angeles led by as many as 31 points. The Golden State Warriors did not have a lead in this game.

Steph Curry led the way for Golden State with 23 points. He shot 40 percent from the field. Curry grabbed four rebounds, recorded four assists, and recorded one steal.

D’Angelo Russell made his debut with the Warriors after being with the Brooklyn Nets the last couple of years. He scored 20 points. Russell shot 37.5 percent from the field. He also recorded eight assists.

Glenn Robinson III scored 13 points. He also shot 50 percent from the field. Robinson III grabbed three rebounds and recorded two assists.

Draymond Green scored 11 points. He shot 50 percent from the field. Green also grabbed four rebounds, recorded three assists, and recorded one steal.

Golden State scored 52 bench points. Eric Paschall and Jacob Evans each scored 14 points. This was Paschall’s NBA debut. He was a second-round pick out of Villanova.

These two teams will play each other three more times this season.

Klay Thompson did not play in this game for Golden State because of a knee injury that will sideline him until after the All-Star Break potentially.

Paul George was sidelined in this game once again because of offseason shoulder surgery. He is expected to return sometime in November.

The Los Angeles Clippers next game will be on the road against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night.

The Golden State Warriors next game will be on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday afternoon.
