Closer Craig Kimbrel played a huge role last season with the Boston Red Sox. He was one of the reasons why they won the World Series and Kimbrel is also one of the best closers in the game of baseball.
He decided to sign a three-year deal worth $43 million with the Chicago Cubs, according to The Athletic. This deal also includes a fourth-year option.
Chicago is currently in first place in the National League West with a 34-26 record and they have a one game lead on the Milwaukee Brewers. His record last season with the Boston Red Sox was 5-1 with a 2.74 ERA. In 62.1 innings pitched, Criag Kimbrel gave up 31 hits and 19 runs. He also walked 31 batters and struck out 96.

There were other teams that were also interested in signing him. Some of those teams were the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox, the Minnesota Twins, the New York Mets, the Atlanta Braves, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Houston Astros.
This was a very good signing for the Chicago Cubs and it is obvious that they are all in to win another World Series title this season. There bullpen is average and they just upgraded it in a big way for them.
The last time Chicago won it all was in 2016 and they have been to the postseason for the last four seasons and the Cubs are looking to get to the postseason for the fifth consecutive season.
