Diamondbacks Take Rubber Game Against Orioles

The Arizona Diamondbacks did not want to fall in the rubber game against the Baltimore Orioles. Arizona took down Baltimore thanks to a couple of long balls in a 5-2 victory. The Diamondbacks took two-out-of-three against the Orioles in this series.

Anthony Santander hit a solo home run in the fourth-inning for Baltimore off of Taylor Clarke.

Carson Kelly hit a three-run homer in the fourth-inning for Arizona off of John Means.

Trey Mancini hit a solo home run in the sixth-inning for the Baltimore Orioles off of Taylor Clarke. It is quite possible Mancini gets traded within the next few days before the trade deadline ends.

Ketel Marte hit a solo home run in the sixth-inning for the Arizona Diamondbacks off of Richard Bleier.

Marte also had an RBI in the seventh-inning on a bases loaded walk.

Clarke (3-3) was the winning pitcher for Arizona. He pitched six innings and gave up four hits and two runs. Taylor Clarke didn’t walk a batter and he struck out seven batters.

Means (8-6) was the losing pitcher for Baltimore. He pitched 3.1 innings and gave up six hits and three runs. John Means walked three batters and struck out four batters.

Yoan Lopez recorded his first career save. He pitched one inning perfect inning.

The Orioles will begin a four-game set on the road against the Los Angeles Angels starting on Thursday night.

The Diamondbacks will begin a three-game set on the road against the Miami Marlins starting on Friday night.
