Fleury Records Fourth Shutout of Postseason; Golden Knights March On

You know it is going to be your night when the opposing team misses golden opportunities early and shots cling off the crossbar. Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury made 28 saves and it was his fourth shutout of the postseason to lift Vegas to a 3-0 victory in Game 6 on the road against the San Jose Sharks. Vegas wins series 4-2 and they are advancing to the Western Conference Finals in their inaugural season.

Jonathan Marchessault scored for the Golden Knights in the second period. Later on in the period, Nate Schmidt took a shot and supposedly it just hit the crossbar. However, the horn sounded and they reviewed the play. Schmidt’s shot went in and out of the top part of the net and the puck fully crossed the line and they ruled it a good goal.

Cody Eakin scored an empty-net goal with 1:51 remaining in regulation for Vegas. Martin Jones played well for the San Jose Sharks and he made 30 saves.

The Sharks season concludes and the Vegas Golden Knights will either face the Winnipeg Jets or the Nashville Predators in the Western Conference Finals. Game 1 of that series will be later this week.
