Flyers Top Blue Jackets

With the game tied at two in the second-period between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia was hoping to make one extra play in the game than Columbus.

Claude Giroux scored the game-winning power-play goal with 3:35 remaining in the second-period as the Flyers took down the Blue Jackets by a score of 3-2.

Philadelphia suffocated Columbus in the third-period. The Philadelphia Flyers are playing better hockey as of late.

Nick Foligno scored 4:51 into the game for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Tyler Pitlick tied the game at one for Philadelphia with 1:22 remaining in the first-period.

Seth Jones scored for Columbus with 36 seconds remaining in the first-period. He basiclally froze Brian Elliott and he never saw the shot coming his way.

Scott Laughton tied the game at two 3:19 into the second-period for Philadelphia.

Brian Elliott made 28 saves for the Flyers.

Jonas Korpisalo made 19 saves for the Blue Jackets.

Even with the win and the Carolina Hurricanes loss on Wednesday night on the road to the New York Rangers 3-2, Philadelphia currently stays in the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference with a 13-7-5 record with 31 points.

Carolina’s record so far this season is 15-9-1 with 31 points.

The Philadelphia Flyers and the Columbus Blue Jackets will play each other two more times this season.

Philadelphia’s next game will be at home on Friday afternoon against the Detroit Red Wings.

Columbus’s next game will be at home on Friday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
