A lot of criticism has surrounded the New York Giants and Eli Manning over the Giants bye week. With the Giants trailing 23-20, Manning led the Giants down the field for a game-winning touchdown by Sterling Shepard from three yards out and it lifted New York to a 27-23 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Manning completed 19-of-31 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Even though he didn’t play that bad, will the New York Giants move him to the bench for rookie quarterback Kyle Lauletta? Is this the way they will send out Eli Manning or will they gave him another week?
Shepard only finished with two receptions for nine yards and a touchdown. He also finished with 27 rushing yards on one carry.
With New York trailing 3-0 in the first, Manning threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr.
San Francisco scored on the next drive on a 3-yard touchdown run by Matt Breida. Breida finished with 101 yards rushing on 17 carries and a score. He also finished with three receptions for 31 yards receiving and a touchdown.
With the 49ers leading 13-10 in the third, Nick Mullens threw a 11-yard touchdown pass to Matt Breida. Mullens completed 27-of-39 passes for 250 yards one touchdown and two interception.
George Kittle was the San Francisco 49ers leading receiver with nine receptions for 83 yards receiving.
Later in the third, Eli Manning threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham Jr. finished with four catches for 73 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Saquon Barkley was the Giants leading rusher with 67 yards on 20 carries. He also caught four passes for 33 yards receiving.
The New York Giants (2-7) will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-6) next Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers (2-8) will be on a bye next week. They will then be on the road for Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-6).
