On a sunny Tuesday evening at Wrigley Field, the Cleveland Indians bats needed to wake up in the worst way. They exploded for 10 runs in a 10-1 win on the road against the Chicago Cubs.
Jose Rameriz hit a three-run homer for the Indians in third-inning off of Tyler Chatwood. Roberto Perez hit a sacrifice fly later in the third-inning for Cleveland. Melky Cabrera hit an RBI double for the Indians in the fourth inning. Jason Kipnis also had a two-run single in the fourth.
Peter Alonso hit a bases clearing double in the fifth inning. Ian Happ hit a solo homerun in the ninth-inning for the Cubs off of Josh Tomlin.
Trevor Bauer (4-3) was the winning pitcher for the Cleveland Indians. He pitched six innings and gave up seven hits. Bauer walked two batters and struck out six.
Tyler Chatwood (3-4) was the losing pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. He pitched 2.2 innings and gave up four hits and four runs. Chatwood walked six batters and only struck out one.
The Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs will play the final game of this two-game set on Wednesday Night.
