With the Philadelphia 76ers up 116-113, they need a basket down the stretch to put the Boston Celtics away. Philadelphia almost turned the ball over on their final possession, but Jimmy Butler was able to make a clutch jump shot with 4.7 seconds remaining to help Philadelphia beat Boston for the first and only time this season 118-115.

Butler scored 15 of his 22 points in the fourth-quarter. He shot 41.2 percent from the field. Jimmy Butler also grabbed four rebounds and recorded two assists.

Joel Embiid was in the Celtics head for most of the night. His game was able to get Marcus Smart frustrated. Smart shoved Embiid from behind in the third-quarter and Marcus Smart was ejected. He could very well face a suspension for that play.

Joel Embiid scored 37 points on 47.1 percent shooting from the field. He also grabbed 22 rebounds, recorded four assists, blocked one shot, and recorded one steal. Tobias Harris scored 21 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and recorded three assists.

J.J. Reddick scored 17 points on 28.6 percent shooting. He grabbed one rebound and recorded three assists. Ben Simmons scored 13 points, grabbed eight rebounds, recorded seven assists, blocked two shots, and recorded three steals.

The 76ers bench only scored eight points. Mike Scott scored four points and grabbed four rebounds.

Kyrie Irving scored 36 points for the Boston Celtics on 41.4 percent shooting from the field. He also grabbed nine rebounds, recorded four assists, and blocked one shot. Al Horford scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds, recorded five assists, and recorded one steal.

Jayson Tatum scored 13 points, grabbed six rebounds, recorded four assists, and blocked one shot for Boston.

Their bench scored 37 points and Terry Rozier scored 20 of them. He shot 50 percent from the field. Rozier grabbed six rebounds and recorded one assist.

The Celtics biggest lead in the game was 15 points. The 76ers biggest lead in the game was five points. Boston won the season series 3-1. It is possible these two teams play each other again in the postseason, but I wouldn’t count on it.

The Boston Celtics next game will be on the road on Saturday night against the Charlotte Hornets. The Philadelphia 76ers next game will be on the road on Saturday night against the Atlanta Hawks.
