With the Oklahoma City Thunder down 122-119 with three seconds remaining in regulation, Lonzo Ball fouled Russell Westbrook at the 3-point line and Westbrook was awarded three free throws. He made all three of them to tie the game at 122 and the Los Angeles Lakers called a timeout so the ball could be advanced.
Kyle Kuzma missed a fade away shot from downtown at the end of regulation for Los Angeles. In the overtime session, the Lakers outscored the Thunder 16-6 and won the game 138-128.
Lonzo Ball scored five of his 18 points in the overtime session. He also grabbed six rebounds, recorded 10 assists, and recorded one steal. Kyle Kuzma was sensational again for the Los Angeles Lakers. He scored 32 points and made a career-high seven 3’s. Kuzma grabbed eight rebounds, recorded four assists, and recorded three steals.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 13 points. Brandon Ingram struggled for Los Angeles. He only scored eight points on 11.1 percent shooting from the field. Ingram grabbed five rebounds, recorded 11 assists, and blocked one shot.
The Los Angeles Lakers bench scored 61 points. Ivica Zubac had a monstrous game off the bench with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and one assist.
Los Angeles was down by as many as 17 points in the first-half and it looked like they were going to be blown out of the building. The Lakers biggest lead of the game was 10 points.
Paul George led the Oklahoma City Thunder in scoring with 27 points. He also grabbed seven rebounds, recorded eight assists, and recorded three steals. Russell Westbrook flirted with another triple-double. He scored 26 points, grabbed nine rebounds, recorded 13 assists, blocked one shot, and had one steal.
Terrance Ferguson scored 21 points. Steven Adams recorded a double-double with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and four steals. Jerami Grant scored 14 points and blocked three shots.
The Oklahoma City Thunder’s bench only scored 23 points. Dennis Schroder and Patrick Patterson each scored nine points off the bench.
Los Angeles currently moves back into 8th in the west. They hope Lebron James and Rajon Rondo return to the lineup soon.
These two teams will play each other one more time on April 2 in Oklahoma City. The Los Angeles Lakers next game will be on the road on Saturday night against the Houston Rockets. The Oklahoma City Thunder’s next game will be on the road on Saturday afternoon against the Philadelphia 76ers.
