Leonard’s Buzzer Beater Lifts Raptors into Conference Finals

After Jimmy Butler tied the game at 90 with 4.2 seconds remaining off a missed Kawhi Leonard free throw, the Toronto Raptors called a timeout in order to advance the ball. Leonard caught the ball on the inbounds and he dribbled to the right baseline.

Kawhi Leonard faded away and it looked as if the ball was going to bounce out of the basket, but it kept bouncing and bouncing and it went into the net as time expired and Toronto beat the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7, 92-90.

Leonard scored 15 of his 42 points in the fourth-quarter. He shot 41 percent from the field and he also grabbed eight rebounds, recorded three assists, and recorded three steals.

Kawhi Leonard did not get much help from his teammates in this game, but the second best player for the Raptors in Game 7 was Pascal Siakam. He scored 11 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, recorded two assists, and recorded two steals.

Kyle Lowry scored 10 points, grabbed six rebounds, recorded six assists, and recorded two steals.

Serge Ibaka scored 17 points off the bench and Toronto scored 21 total bench points. Ibaka also grabbed eight rebounds and recorded three assists.

The Raptors biggest lead in this game was nine points and Philadelphia’s biggest lead in this game was seven points.

Joel Embiid led the way in scoring for the 76ers with 21 points. He also grabbed 11 rebounds, recorded four assists, and blocked three shots. Embiid showed a lot of eomtion after this game was over. He was crying into the locker room and it shows his passion for the game of basketball.

J.J. Reddick scored 17 points and he made four 3’s. He also grabbed four rebounds, recorded three assists, blocked one shot, and recorded one steal.

Jimmy Butler scored 16 points on 35.4 percent shooting from the field. He also grabbed four rebounds, recorded one assist, and recorded one steal.

Tobias Harris scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, recorded three assists, and recorded one steal.

Ben Simmons scored 13 points on only five shots taken. He also grabbed eight rebounds, recorded five assists, blocked three shots, and recorded one steal.

There will be a lot of questions the Philadelphia 76ers will have to answer this offseason. Head Coach Brett Brown may not even be back next season.

As for the Toronto Raptors, they advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2016. Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals will be on Wednesday night in Milwaukee against the Milwaukee Bucks.
