There haven’t been too many bright spots in the 2018 New York Mets season. One of the bright spots in Wednesday’s Afternoon’s contest against the San Diego Padres was they erupted for six runs combined in the fifth and six-inning, and it lifted New York to a 6-4 win over San Diego.

Eric Hosmer scored from third base for the San Diego Padres on a double play ball hit by Freddy Galvis in the second inning. In the fifth-inning, it appeared as if Brandon Nimmo robbed catcher Austin Hedges of a home run. On video replay, it showed the ball went over the wall, hit something, and then bounced into Nimmo’s glove. Hedges hit the home run off of Corey Oswalt.

In the sixth-inning, Jose Bautista hit a two-run homer for the Mets off of Clayton Richard.

Freddy Galvis hit a two-run homer in the seventh-inning for the Padres off of Tim Peterson.
