Opening Day is two weeks away. I have made bold predictions for each MLB team over the past couple of seasons. What will they be for each team in 2019?
NL: New York Mets: Peter Alonso will hit 25 to 30 home runs in his rookie season.
Philadelphia Phillies: They will win the NL East with 95 wins.
Atlanta Braves: Ronald Acuna Jr. will steal 25 bases.
Washington Nationals: Victor Robles will have a .300 batting average with 22 home runs and 70 RBI’s, along with 30 stolen bases in his rookie season.
Miami Marlins: The Marlins will have the worst record in baseball.
St. Louis Cardinals: They will reach the playoffs for the first time since 2015.
Chicago Cubs: They will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Cincinnati Reds: The Reds roster is really improved and they will finished with a .500 or better record.
Milwaukee Brewers: The Brewers will hit 200 home runs as team this season.
Pittsburgh Pirates: They will finish in last place in the NL Central.
Colorado Rockies: They will have one of the better ERA’s in all of baseball.
Los Angeles Dodgers: Walker Buehler will have a better season than Clayton Kershaw.
Arizona Diamondbacks: They won’t win more than 70 games.
San Francisco Giants: Madison Bumgarner will be traded at the trade deadline.
San Diego Padres: They will finish with 75 wins and the Padres will be in third place in the NL West.
AL: New York Yankees: Gleyber Torres will be in the discussion for the AL MVP Race.
Boston Red Sox: They will hit 300 home runs as a team.
Baltimore Orioles: Cedric Mullins steals 30 bases.
Toronto Blue Jays: They will have a worse record than the Baltimore Orioles.
Tampa Bay Rays: They will reach the postseason for the first time since 2013.
Cleveland Indians: Trevor Bauer, Carlos Carrasco, and Corey Kluber will all have 15 wins and 250 strikeouts.
Minnesota Twins: Jose Berrios will win 20 games.
Chicago White Sox: Michael Kopech will have 200 strikeouts.
Detroit Tigers: No players will hit more than 23 home runs.
Kansas City Royals: Whit Merrifield will have 20 stolen bases.
Houston Astros: They will finish with 110 wins in baseball.
Oakland Athletics: Blake Treinen will finish with 40 saves and over 100 strikeouts.
Seattle Mariners: Hunter Strickland will finish with 35 saves.
Texas Rangers: Willie Calhoun will have a breakout season.
Los Angeles Angels: They will lose 100 games.
