NHL All Star Game Rosters Announced;Who Got Snubbed?

For the third year, NHL all star weekend will feature a 3-on-3 tournament. The Central Division will play the Pacific Division and the Atlantic Division will play the Metropolitan Division in one twenty minute game(s). The winner of both of those games will play each other for the championship.

The winning team will get a check of $1,000,000.  The all star game will take place in Tampa Bay on Sunday January 29th at 3:30 on NBC. Each Division will have six forwards, three defenseman, and two goalies. The all star rosters were announced today. Who also got snubbed?

Atlantic Division: Head Coach: Jon Cooper (Tampa Bay Lightning), Forwards: Aleksander Barkov (Florida Panthers, 14 goals 26 assists), Jack Eichel (Buffalo Sabres, 17 goals 22 assists), Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay Lightning, 27 goals 33 assists), Brad Marchand (Boston Bruins, 17 goals 23 assists), Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs, 19 goals and 14 assists), and Steven Stamkos (Tampa Bay Lightning, 17 goals and 35 assists). Defenseman: Mike Green (Detroit Red Wings, four goals and 20 assists), Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay Lightning, six goals and 27 assists), and Erik Karlsson (Ottawa Senators, three goals and 27 assists). Goalies: Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay Lightning,  27-6-3 record .933 save percentage 2.10 GAA and six shutouts) and Carey Price (Montreal Canadiens, 13-14-2 record .911 save percentage 2.89 GAA and one shutout).

Possible Snubs: They got it right spot on basically but you could make an argument for Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy (five goals and 16 assists).

Metropolitan Division: Head Coach: Barry Trotz (Washington Capitals), Forwards: Josh Bailey (New York Islanders, 12 goals and 38 assists), Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins, 15 goals and 28 assists), Claude Giroux (Philadelphia Flyers, 14 goals and 38 assists), Taylor Hall (New Jersey Devils, 15 goals and 27 assists), Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals, 27 goals and 19 assists), and John Tavares (New York Islanders, 22 goals and 29 assists). Defenseman: Noah Hanifin (Carolina Hurricanes, seven goals and 14 assists), Seth Jones (Columbus Blue Jackets, seven goals and 21 assists), and Kris Letang (Pittsburgh Penguins, three goals and 24 assists). Goalies: Henrik Lundqvist ( 19-10-4 record .924 save percentage 2.52 GAA and two shutouts) and Braden Holtby (Washington Capitals, 24-8 record .917 save percentage 2.68 GAA and no shutouts).

Possible Snubs: There is a quite a few snubs here: Pittsburgh Penguins forward Phil Kessel (18 goals and 29 assists), Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin (17 goals and 25 assists), Carolina Hurricanes forward Teuvo Teravainen (11 goals and 24 assists), Carolina Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho (14 goals and 20 assists), Philadelphia Flyers forward Sean Couturier (23 goals and 19 assists), Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson ( five goals and 29 assists), Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostibehere (nine goals and 23 assists), and Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Sergei Bobrovsky (21-12-3 record .922 save percentage 2.40 GAA and four shutouts).

Central Division: Head Coach: Peter Laviolette (Nashville Predators), Forwards: Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks, 18 goals and 27 assists), Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche, 18 goals and 34 assists), Brayden Schenn (St. Louis Blues, 17 goals and 27 assists), Tyler Seguin (Dallas Stars, 21 goals and 19 assists), Eric Staal (Minnesota Wild, 19 goals and 18 assists), and Blake Wheeler (Winnipeg Jets, 14 goals and 38 assists). Defenseman: John Klingberg (Dallas Stars, six goals and 33 assists), Alex Pietrangelo (St. Louis Blues, seven goals and 23 assists), and P.K. Subban (Nashville Predators, nine goals and 23 assists). Goalies: Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg Jets, 23-4-6 record .923 save percentage 2.36 GAA and three shutouts) and Pekka Rinne (Nashville Predators, 21-8-3 record .925 save percentage 2.43 GAA and three shutouts).

Possible Snubs: St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko (19 goals and 25 assists), Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen (15 goals and 26 assists), and Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi (eight goals and 17 assists).

Pacific Division: Coach: Gerard Gallant (Vegas Golden Knights), Forwards: Brock Boeser (Vancouver Canucks, 22 goals and 18 assists), Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames, 13 goals and 36 assists), Anze Kopitar (Los Angels Kings, 17 goals and 27 assists), Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers, 15 goals and 33 assists), James Neal (Vegas Golden Knights, 18 goals and 11 assists), and Rickard Rakell (Anaheim Ducks, 15 goals and 16 assists). Defenseman: Brent Burns (San Jose Sharks, seven goals and 23 assists), Drew Doughty (Los Angeles Kings, seven goals and 23 assists), and Oliver Ekman-Larsson (Arizona Coyotes, six goals and 13 assists). Goalies: Marc-Andre Fleury (Vegas Golden Knights, 9-2-1 record .945 save percentage 1.73 GAA and two shutouts) and Jonathan Quick (Los Angeles Kings, 19-13-2 record .926 save percentage 2.31 GAA and three shutouts).

Possible Snubs: Vegas Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault (16 goals and 24 assists) and Arizona Coyotes forward Clayton Keller (14 goals and 18 assists).
