The Colorado Rockies have locked up their star player up for the long term. Third baseman Nolan Arenado agreed to a 8-year contract extension worth $260 million. This contract will begin in 2020.
He is one of the best players in the game right now. Arenado has won a couple of gold glove awards before. He is only 27 years old.
Last season, his batting average was .297 with 38 home runs and 110 RBI’s. Nolan Arenado’s on-base percentage was .374. He also stole two bases.
Arenado has been one of the reasons why Colorado has made it to the MLB playoffs in the last two seasons. They hope to win a World Series title within the next nine years Nolan Arenado is with them.
He has been with the Colorado Rockies since the 2013 season. Arenado is a part of the core with Trevor Story, Charlie Blackmon, and Carlos Gonzales.
With him signing this contract, you would think outfielder Bryce Harper would be signed soon.
