Zack Kassian scored for the Edmonton Oilers with 3:31 remaining in the second-period. Darnell Nurse tied the game for Edmonton at three with 1:14 remaining in the second-period.
Buffalo had several chances late in the game to tie it, but Edmonton goaltender Mikko Koskinen kept answering the call. He finished with 35 saves in the game.
Linus Ullmark made 16 saves for the Sabres. He was pulled after the second-period in favor of Carter Hutton and he finished with seven saves.
The Edmonton Oilers swept the season series against the Buffalo Sabres 2-0. Edmonton’s next game will be at home on Thursday night against the Vancouver Canucks. Buffalo’s next game will be on the road on Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
