A lot of people predicted before the season that the Minnesota Vikings and the New England Patriots could possibly play one another in the Super Bowl this season. In this contest, New England defeated Minnesota 24-10.
James Develin scored on a 1-yard touchdown run in the first-quarter for the Patriots.
With the Vikings trailing 10-0, Adam Thielen caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins for the Vikings in the second-quarter. Cousins completed 32-of-44 passes for 201 yards one touchdown and two interceptions. Thielen caught five passes for 28 yards receiving and a score. Stefon Diggs was Minnesota’s leading receiver with five receptions for 49 yards receiving.
With the game tied at 10 in the third, Tom Brady threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Josh Gordon. Gordon caught three passes for 58 yards receiving and a score. Brady completed 24-of-32 passes for 311 yards one touchdown and one interception. Brady also rushed for five yards on two carries.
James Develin scored on a 2-yard touchdown run for New England in the fourth-quarter. He finished with five yards rushing on four carries and two touchdowns. Sony Michel was their leading rusher with 63 yards on 17 carries. He also caught one pass for seven yards. James White was the New England Patriots leading receiver with seven receptions for 92 yards receiving. He also rushed for 26 yards on six carries.
The Minnesota Vikings (6-5-1) will be on the road against the Seattle Seahawks (7-5) next Monday night. The New England Patriots (9-3) will be on the road against the Miami Dolphins (6-6) next Sunday.
