Penguins Top Oilers Again

The Pittsburgh Penguins looked sluggish in the first-period. They got it rolling in the second-period and Pittsburgh took down the Edmonton Oilers at home once against on Wednesday 3-1.

Leon Draisaitl scored the lone goal of the game for Edmonton 4:45 into the game.

Bryan Rust tied the game for the Pittsburgh Penguins at one 2:30 into the second-period. Teddy Blueger scored the game-winner for Pittsburgh 6:10 into the second.

Later in the second, Connor McDavid was rewarded a penalty shot. McDavid took the penalty shot and he was denied glove side by Matt Murray.

Matt Murray was sensational once again for the Penguins with 38 saves. Mikko Koskinen recorded 31 saves for the Oilers.

Jared McCann scored the empty-net goal for Pittsburgh with one minute remaining in regulation. Evgeni Malkin was suspended for this game for the Pittsburgh Penguins because he was swung his stick the other night at Philadelphia Flyers forward Michael Raffl.

The Edmonton Oilers next game will be on the road on Friday night against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Pittsburgh Penguins next game will be at home on Saturday afternoon against the Calgary Flames.
