Rams Avoid Upset Bid Against Packers

The Los Angeles Rams were sloppy early in the game against the Green Bay Packers. They eventually settled down. Greg Zuerlien kicked the game-winning 34-yard field goal for the Rams with 2:05 remaining in regulation.

On the ensuing kickoff, the Rams forced a fumble and recovered the football. Todd Gurley picked up a first down to seal on the Rams next drive and they beat the Packers 29-27.

Jamaal Williams scored on a 1-yard touchdown run in the first-quarter for the Green Bay Packers. Williams finished with nine yards rushing on four carries and a score.

With the Los Angeles Rams trailing 10-0 in the second-quarter, Mark Barron tackled Aaron Jones in the end zone for a safety.

Jared Goff threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Josh Reynolds later in the quarter (failed 2-point conversion).

With the Rams trailing 13-8 in the third-quarter, Goff threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Todd Gurley (Goff pass to Gurley 2-point conversion). Gurley finished with 114 rushing yards on 25 carries. He also caught six passes for 81 yards receiving and a score.

Later in the third, Josh Reynolds caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff. Reynolds caught three passes for 42 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Goff completed 19-of-35 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns.

Aaron Jones scored on a 33-yard touchdown for the Green Bay Packers later in the third-quarter. Jones finished with 86 rushing yards on 12 carries and a score. He also had two receptions for zero yards.

With Green Bay trailing 26-20 in the fourth, Aaron Rodgers threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling. He finished with two receptions for 45 yards receiving and a score. Rodgers completed 18-of-30 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for five yards on one carry.

Davante Adams was Green Bay’s leading receiver with five receptions for 133 yards receiving.

The Green Bay Packers (3-3-1) will be at the New England Patriots (5-2) next Sunday night. The Los Angeles Rams (8-0) will be at the New Orleans Saints (5-1) next Sunday.
