The Los Angeles Rams wanted to win the line of scrimmage early and often in the NFC Divisional Round at home on Saturday night against the Dallas Cowboys. Los Angeles’s offensive line mauled Dallas’s defensive line for most of the night and it allowed the Rams to rush for 273 yards in a 30-22 win over the Cowboys.
On a third-and-7 after the two-minute warning, Jared Goff rushed for 11 yards for a first down. Two plays later on second-and-5, C.J. Anderson rushed for six yards to seal the deal.
With the Dallas Cowboys trailing 3-0 in the first, Dak Prescott threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper. Cooper finished with six receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown. Michael Gallup was Dallas’s leading receiver with six receptions for 119 yards receiving.
With the Rams trailing 7-6 in the second-quarter, C.J. Anderson scored on a 1-yard touchdown run. Later in the second, Todd Gurley scored on a 35-yard touchdown run for Los Angeles. He finished with 115 yards rushing on 16 carries and a score. He also caught two passes for three yards receiving.
Robert Woods was the Los Angeles Rams leading receiver with six receptions for 69 yards receiving. He also rushed for nine yards on one carry. Goff completed 15-of-28 passes for 186 yards. He also rushed for 12 yards on six carries.
With the Dallas Cowboys trailing 23-7 in the third-quarter, Ezekiel Elliott scored on a 1-yard touchdown run (Prescott to Amari Cooper 2-point conversion). Elliott rushed for 47 yards on 20 carries and a score. He also caught two passes for 19 yards receiving.
At the beginning of the fourth-quarter on a fourth-and-1 play at the Los Angeles Rams 35-yard line, Ezekiel Elliott was stuffed by the Los Angeles Rams defensive line and he didn’t pick up the first down.
Los Angeles scored on a 1-yard C.J. Anderson rushing touchdown on a fourth-and-goal with 7:16 remaining in regulation. He finished with 123 rushing yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns.
Dak Prescott scored on a 1-yard touchdown run for the Dallas Cowboys with 2:11 remaining in regulation. He finished with three yards rushing on two carries and a score. Prescott also completed 20-of-32 passes for 266 yards and a touchdown. The rest was history.
The (4) Dallas Cowboys (11-7) season concludes. The (2) Los Angeles Rams (14-3) will either host the (6) Philadelphia Eagles (10-7) next Sunday afternoon in the NFC Championship Game or they will be on the road against the (1) New Orleans Saints (13-3) next Sunday afternoon in the NFC Championship Game which is set to kickoff at 3:05 p.m.
