Rams Win All-Time Classic Against Chiefs

If you are a person that likes defense, then the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams game would have caused you to have a stroke. This game was supposed to be played in Mexico City but because of the horrid field conditions, they had to move the game to Los Angeles. Jared Goff’s 40-yard touchdown pass to Gerald Everett with 1:49 remaining lifted the Los Angeles Rams to a 54-51 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Goff completed 31-of-49 passes for 413 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for six yards on four carries and a touchdown. Everett finished with three receptions for 49 yards and two touchdowns.

After the Goff touchdown late in the game, Patrick Mahomes was picked off by Marcus Peters. The Rams got the ball back but the Chiefs got the ball back. Mahomes was picked off again and it officially sealed the win for the Rams.

Early in the game, Robert Woods caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff (missed extra point). Woods caught four passes for 72 yards receiving and a score. Brandin Cooks was Los Angeles’s leading receiving with eight receptions for 107 yards receiving.

Later in the first, Josh Reynolds caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff. Reynolds finished with six receptions for 80 yards receiving and a score. He is taking Cooper Kupp’s spot in the lineup because Kupp is done for the season with a Torn ACL.

Tyreek Hill scored on a 25-yard touchdown reception from Patrick Mahomes later in the first for Kansas City.

With the Kansas City Chiefs trailing 16-10 in the second-quarter, Mahomes threw a screen pass to Kareem Hunt and Hunt took it 21 yards for a touchdown. Hunt finished with three receptions for 41 yards receiving and a score. He also rushed for 70 yards on 14 carries.

Later in the second, Samson Ebukam scored on a 11-yard fumble return for a touchdown for the Los Angeles Rams.

Before halftime, Patrick Mahomes threw a 8-yard touchdown pass to Chris Conley (missed extra point). The game was tied at 23 heading into halftime.

The second half was just as fun as the first half. Jared Goff scored on a 7-yard touchdown run in the third-quarter for the Los Angeles Rams.

Travis Kelce caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes later in the third for the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce finished with 10 receptions for 127 yards receiving and a score.

With the Rams leading 33-30, Samson Ebukam scored on a 25-yard pick later in the third-quarter.

With the Chiefs trailing 40-30 in the fourth, Tyreek Hill scored on a 73-yard touchdown reception from Patrick Mahomes. Hill finished with 10 receptions for 215 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

Allen Bailey scored on a 2-yard fumble recovery for the Chiefs later in the fourth.

The Rams would respond by Jared Goff throwing a 7-yard touchdown pass to Gerald Everett.

Chris Conley caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes with 2:47 remaining in regulation for the Chiefs. Conley finished with seven receptions for 74 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

Patrick Mahomes completed 33-of-46 passes for 478 yards six touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 28 yards on six carries.

The rest of the game was history. Both of these teams will be on a bye this week. The Kansas City Chiefs (9-2) will be on the road against the Oakland Raiders (2-8) after the bye week. The Los Angeles Rams (10-1) will be on the road against the Detroit Lions (4-6) after the bye week.
