The Buffalo Bills made it to the playoffs last season for the first time since 1999. The Baltimore Ravens have missed the playoffs for the last season and they wanted to get the season off to a good start. It was a rainy afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. The Ravens demolished the Bills 47-3.
Alex Collins scored on a eight-yard rushing touchdown and John Brown scored on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco in the first-quarter. Collins finished with 13 yards rushing on seven carries and a touchdown. He also caught one pass for six yards receiving. Brown finished with three receptions for 44 yards receiving and a touchdown.
With Baltimore leading 20-0 in the second-quarter, Michael Crabtree caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco. Crabtree caught three passes for 38 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Flacco threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Willie Snead in the third-quarter. Snead finished with four receptions for 49 yards receiving and one touchdown. Flacco completed 25-of-34 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for three yards on two carries.
Javorius Allen scored a three-yard touchdown run in the third-quarter. Allen finished with 17 rushing yards on four carries and one touchdown. He also caught five passes for 15 yards receiving.
With the Ravens leading 40-3 in the fourth-quarter, Kenneth Dixon scored on a 2-yard touchdown run. Dixon was the leading rusher with 44 yards rushing on 13 carries and one touchdown.
Nathan Peterman was the Buffalo Bills starting quarterback and he completed five passes on 18 attempts for 24 yards receiving and two interceptions. Peterman also rushed for one yard on one carry.
He was yanked in the second-half in favor of rookie Josh Allen. Allen completed six passes on 15 attempts for 74 yards receiving. That will be an interesting decision for head coach Doug McDermott to make next week.
Marcus Murphy was the Buffalo Bills leading rusher with six carries for 31 yards rushing. LeSean McCoy was held in check with 22 yards rushing on seven carries.
Zay Jones was the Buffalo Bills leading receiver with three receptions for 26 yards receiving.
The Buffalo Bills (0-1) will host the Los Angeles Chargers next Sunday. The Baltimore Ravens (1-0) will travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) on Thursday Night.
