Road Team Success Continues in Eastern Conference Finals; Lightning Even Series

The series has been more kind to the road teams rather than the home teams so far in the Eastern Conference Finals. Alex Killorn scored the game-winning goal for the Tampa Bay Lightning with 8:03 remaining in regulation to lift them to a Game 4, 4-2 victory over the Washington Capitals. The series is tied at 2.

Dmitry Orlov scored on a wicked slap shot top shelf 4:28 into the game for the Capitals. Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos (power play) scored for the Lightning in the first period. Steven Stamkos has scored a goal in every game this season.

Evgeny Kuznetsov tied the game at two for Washington in the second-period and it was set up on a beautiful pass by Alex Ovechkin. Ovechkin was all over the ice for the Capitals all game long and took three shots on net.

Anthony Cirelli scored an empty-net goal for Tampa Bay with two seconds remaining. Andrei Vasilevskiy stole this game for the Tampa Bay Lightning and he made 36 saves. Braden Holtby made 16 saves for the Washington Capitals.

Washington pretty much outplayed Tampa Bay during Game 4, but the Lightning got the most important thing which was a win, instead of being down 3-1 in the series. The road team has won every game in this series so far.  Nicklas Backstrom returned to action for the Washington Capitals after missing the last four games with an upper-body injury. Game 5 will be on Saturday Night back in Tampa Bay.
