New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski considered retiring after last season. He was almost traded to the Detroit Lions last offseason and Gronkowski threatened to retire if he was actually traded to Detroit. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Rob Gronkowski is considering retirement once again this upcoming offseason.
He has been dealing with injuries throughout his career and Gronkowski has looked rusty at various moments this season. He has only caught 47 passes for 682 yards receiving and three touchdowns this season. Rob Gronkowski has caught 521 passes for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns in his career. If he decided to retire at the end of the season, Gronkowski would be the greatest tight end of all time.
He is only 29 years old and Rob Gronkowski might want to explore other things in his life. He has a playoff game to worry about today first when the New England Patriots face the Los Angeles Chargers at home with kickoff set for 1:05 p.m. at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This could be the last shot for Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Bill Belichick at winning a Super Bowl.
