What can wrong, will go wrong for the Cleveland Browns. Zane Gonzales missed some key field goals today for the Browns and it caused them to lose again to the New Orleans Saints 21-18. Will Lutz drilled the game-winning 44-yard field goal with 26 seconds remaining.
With the Browns leading 6-3 in the third-quarter, Carlos Hyde scored on a 1-yard touchdown run. He finished with 43 yards on 16 carries and one touchdown. Hyde also caught one pass for seven yards receiving. Zane Gonzales missed the extra point.
Wide receiver Michael Thomas caught two touchdown passes in the fourth-quarter from Drews Brees from two yards out and five yards out. Alvin Kamara scored on a two-point conversion on Thomas’s second touchdown.
Michael Thomas caught 12 passes for 89 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Brees completed 28-of-35 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns. Kamara rushed for 46 yards on 13 carries. He also caught six passes for 53 yards receiving.
Tyrod Taylor completed a fourth down pass to Antiono Callaway with 1:24 remaining in regulation. Zane Gonzales missed the potential go-ahead extra-point and the rest was history.
Taylor completed 22-of-30 passes for 246 yards one touchdown and one interception. He rushed for 26 yards on four carries. Callaway finished with three receptions on 81 yards receiving and a touchdown.
The Cleveland Browns will host the New York Jets (1-1) this Thursday night and the New Orleans Saints (1-1) will be on the road against the Atlanta Falcons (1-1) next Sunday.
