It was a red alert game for the Atlanta Falcons and the Pittsburgh Steelers because they both entered Week 5 with just one win on the season. The Pittsburgh Steelers breezed by the Atlanta Falcons 41-17.
James Conner scored on a 1-yard touchdown run for the Steelers in the first-quarter (missed extra point). Later in the first, Ben Roethlisberger threw a 18-yard touchdown pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster. He finished with four receptions for 34 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Later in the first-quarter, Mohamed Sanu caught a 43-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan. Sanu finished with four receptions for 73 yards receiving and a touchdown. Ryan completed 26-of-38 passes for 285 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 10 yards on one carry.
With the Pittsburgh Steelers leading 13-10 in the third, Ben Roethlisberger threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Brown. James Conner would score on a 2-yard touchdown run later in the third-quarter for Pittsburgh. He rushed for 110 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns. Conner also caught four passes for 75 yards receiving.
Ito Smith would score on a 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth-quarter for the Atlanta Falcons. He rushed for five yards on three carries and one touchdown. Smith also caught one pass for five yards receiving.
Devonta Freeman was the Falcons leading rusher with 32 yards on eight carries. He also caught two passes for nine yards receiving. This was Freeman’s first game back. He has missed the last three games because of a knee injury.
Austin Hooper was the Atlanta Falcons leading receiver with nine receptions for 77 yards. Julio Jones still does not have a touchdown receptions this season. He caught five passes for 62 yards receiving.
Antonio Brown caught a 47-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger later in the fourth. Brown caught six passes for 101 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Roethlisberger completed 19-of-29 passes for 250 yards three touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 16 yards on two carries.
L.J. Fort recovered a fumble in the end zone in the fourth-quarter for a Steelers touchdown.
The Atlanta Falcons (1-4) will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2) next Sunday. The Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2-1) will travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals (4-1) next Sunday.
