Titans Make Statement Against Patriots

Darius Jennings had a 58-yard kick off return for the Tennessee Titans to start the game and it set them up at the New England Patriots 40-yard line. The Titans would take advantage and Marcus Mariota threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Jonnu Smith on that drive. Tennessee never looked back after that and they would cruise against New England 34-10.

Mariota completed 16-of-24 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 21 yards on two carries. Smith finished with three receptions for 45 yards receiving and a score.

With the Titans leading 7-3 in the first-quarter, Mariota threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Corey Davis. Davis finished with seven receptions for 125 yards receiving and a score.

James Develin scored on a 1-yard touchdown run for the Patriots in the second-quarter. Sony Michel was New England’s leading rusher with 31 yards on 11 carries.

Derrick Henry scored on a 1-yard touchdown run in the second-quarter for the Tennessee Titans.

With the Titans leading 27-10 in the fourth, Derrick Henry took the direct snap and scored on a 10-yard rushing touchdown. He finished with 58 yards rushing on 11 carries and two touchdowns.

The New England Patriots decided to take Tom Brady out of the game in the fourth. He completed 21-of-41 passes for 254 yards. Brady also had one carry for zero yards. Julian Edelman was the Patriots leading receiver with nine receptions for 104 yards receiving. He left the game in the fourth with an injury.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski did not play because of a back injury.

The New England Patriots (7-3) will be on a bye next week. They will then be on the road against the New York Jets (3-7) in Week 12. The Tennessee Titans (5-4) will be on the road next week against the Indianapolis Colts (4-5).
