Trail Blazers Take Game 1 Against Thunder

The importance of trying to win the first game in this series for the Portland Trail Blazers against the Oklahoma City Thunder would be pivotal because Portland has not had success in the postseason over the last couple of years. They jumped out to a 39-25 lead after one-quarter, but Oklahoma City wouldn’t go away quietly.

Damian Lillard made some key plays for the Trail Blazers down the stretch as they won Game 1 at home 104-99.

He scored 30 points on 42.9 percent shooting from the field. Lillard also grabbed four rebounds, recorded four assists, and recorded three steals.

C.J. McCollum scored 24 points on 37.5 percent shooting and he also grabbed six rebounds and recorded three assists.

Enes Kanter made a monster difference for Portland against his former team on Sunday afternoon. He scored 20 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Kanter also recorded two assists, blocked two shots, and recorded one steal.

Al-Farouq Aminu scored 10 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and blocked three shots. The Portland Trail Blazers bench scored 18 points. Seth Curry scored eight points, blocked one shot, and recorded two steals.

Their biggest lead in the game was 19 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s biggest lead in the game was one point.

Paul George led the way for Oklahoma City with 26 points, but he struggled from the field and George shot 33.3 percent. George also grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded four steals.

Steven Adams scored 17 points, grabbed nine rebounds, recorded one assist, and recorded three steals.

The Thunder scored 21 bench points and Dennis Schroder scored 11 of them. He also grabbed five rebounds, recorded three assists, and recorded one steal.

This is the first time this season that Portland has beaten Oklahoma City. The Trail Blazers were swept 4-0 during the regular season against the Thunder. Game 2 of this series will be on Tuesday night in Portland.
