After being released from the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday, safety Tyrann Mathieu has signed a one-year deal worth $7 million to sign with the Houston Texans. He will upgrade the Texans secondary immediately.
Houston has a good front seven, but they always seemed to get burned in the secondary in 2017. Mathieu will be a key defensive player in the back end for the Texans and he can stop the run, defend passes, and force turnovers.
Mathieu had 78 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions in 2017. He will be one of the leaders on the Texans defense along with J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney.
