Yankees Salvage Second Game of Double Header against Orioles

After a disappointing 5-4 loss in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Monday Afternoon on the road against the Baltimore Orioles, the New York Yankees were looking to avoid a doubleheader sweep. They dominated from start to finish in Game 2 of the doubleheader, with a 10-2 win.

Didi Gregorius hit an RBI double in the first-inning for the Yankees. Brett Gardner hit a two-run homer off of Yefry Ramirez in the fourth inning. Greg Bird hit an RBI single in the fifth inning.

The New York Yankees continued to pour it on the eighth inning on a two-run homer by Austin Romine off of Brad Brach, a Brett Gardner RBI double, and Gardner scored on a throwing error that allowed Giancarlo Stanton to reach first base.

The only highlight of the game for the Baltimore Orioles was a two-run homer in the eighth-inning by Tim Beckham off of Giovanny Gallegos.

In the ninth-inning, Romine hit an RBI double and Judge hit an RBI single.

Luis Cessa (1-1) was the winning pitcher for the New York Yankees. He pitched six innings and gave up three hits. Cessa walked three batters and struck out four.

Yefry Ramirez (0-3) was the losing pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles. He pitched four innings and gave up nine hits and gave up four runs. Ramirez walked two batters and struck out four.

Giovanny Gallegos recorded his first save of the season for the Yankees. He pitched three innings and gave up two hits and two runs. Gallegos also walked two batters.

This four-game set between the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles continues on Tuesday Night at Camden Yards.
